Great ski experience ▪ Perfect settingLes Gets must be skied to be believed. Wonderful terrain, reliable snow and virtually no crowding of skiers on the slopes.
Experts, intermediates and beginners will all find what they are looking for here. Just 200 metres from Chalet Magali’s doorstep takes you through scores of beautiful valleys, linked by 14 resorts.
650 km (406 miles) of well marked and beautifully groomed pistes make up the giant Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil region - the largest international linked ski area in the world. Most of the terrain in Les Gets falls into the intermediate category, but there are plenty of steep runs for more advanced skiers. The 14 resorts of the incredible Portes du Soleil ski area offer a total 100 challenging black runs to explore, including the renowned ‘Wall’ in neighbouring Avoriaz.
This is a vast ski domain with innumerable off-piste possibilities, and there’s little chance of getting bored. Whether you’re a novice or an expert skier, a snowboarder or a cross-country skier the Portes du Soleil network has everything.
Reputation for good snow coverLes Gets’ location on the western edge of the Alps guarantees the region some of the most envied snowfall records in Europe. Most of the wonderful tree lined ski runs in the area are above 1600 metres and north facing, ensuring they hold the snow well and deliver good skiing until late in the season. And if Mother Nature isn't making it happen, there are plenty of snowmaking machines.
The season at Les Gets runs from mid-December through late April with passes available at the same price throughout the season. Ski RunsWith more than six different routes up on to the mountains from resort level there are rarely any long queues. Much of the skiing above Les Gets and Morzine is cut through the forest, with snow lying on top of meadow grass, so there are few nasty rocks to worry about when the snow cover is sometimes thin at the start and end of the season.
Close to the village centre are some gentle blues. Up on the mountains there are several black runs, some challenging reds, a number of easy-riding reds, and more blues. The resort’s own mountain Mont Chery, served by a chair and gondola, is quiet and perfect for a morning skiing in the sun. This separate area offers terrain for all ability levels. Here you can take a mixed ability group to the top and find runs for each ability level, which depart from the same point and meet again at the base. There are also some exciting challenges for snowboarders. The new snow board park and border cross areas have established Monty Chery as a snowboarder’s playground.
If you are skiing on the Mont Chery side of the village you can ski back to within just a few paces from Chalet Magali’s doorstep. Chalet Magali’s hosts will advise you of the route to take.

Genuine Family AppealLes Gets has a long standing reputation as one of the leading family ski resorts. The resort has recently expanded on its Cowboys-and-native-Americans themed fun area for families by adding a new cowboy’s cabin in the sector.
The area, known as the Grand Cry Reserve already includes a circuit winding in between pine trees. The route sees bumps turning in to banked corners where kids can practise their technique whilst having fun. The area also includes a Canadian tipi and is served by easy-to-use quad and six-seater chairlifts.
Les Gets has slopes sponsored by Swiss chocolate manufacturer Milka, with their famous purple cow mascot and logo. These runs on the Chavannes slopes give young skiers fun and educational information on the nature of the mountains.
Children are extremely well looked after with facilities especially for them. An area in the centre of the resort is set-up for children, where they can learn to ski and have fun all the way.

Environment-friendly SkiingLes Gets has recently replaced diesel generators on ski lifts with solar panels. The village is also ensuring that its snowmaking systems run without any additives and the piste bashers are using bio-degradable diesel fuel.
The result of all this effort, apart from helping the environment and making the resort’s slopes more pleasant for skiers and boarders, is that the lift company has been awarded ISO 9001 - a European Government award for good environmental practice.
