A ski resort as good as it Gets

Les Gets is a beautiful, unpretentious Savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere and great family facilities. It is a wonderful authentic ski village that sits at 1172m with pistes either side of the village running directly into the centre.

This charming village is truly picture perfect and not ruined by development. The village preservation and its renowned appeal is acknowledged with the official classification ‘Pearl of the Alps’, of which there are only 17.

Les Gets is one of France’s best kept secrets….a place where memories are made while skiing and snowboarding in one of the most beautiful and pristine settings in the Alps.

You will find all the facilities expected of a modern resort; efficient lifts, regular ski buses, good shopping and numerous lively bars and restaurants.

Christmas Delight

One of the best times to be in Les Gets is at Christmas. Visitors will experience Christmas celebrated in true Savoyard style, in a village offering all the romanticism of a winter-wonderland. A Christmas tree illuminates the old village square where a pretty church is situated, and a magical scene of reindeers with sleigh lights up the town hall and spectaular newly built outdoor ice rink.

Après Ski

Visitors can enjoy a traditional village atmosphere with plenty of things going on, from the free mulled wine offered by the tourist office on Mondays to coincide with the torchlit descent by the french ski instructors to the floodlit skiing at night. There is also an ice rink in the centre of the village, a health spa and a ten-pin bowling alley, open every day from 4pm to 2am.

Local tradition

Take a glimpse at life in the mountains from the Frutiere des Perrieres Fromagerie (Cheese Dairy) to the fascinating museum of mechanical musical instruments which is open all year round.

Frutiere des Perrieres Fromagerie is where the milk is converted into cheese. The dairy is open every day for the making of traditional Haute Savoie cheeses, butter and yoghurts. Each Wednesday at 8.30am you can take a free guided tour of the dairy to see the cheese-making.

A resort committed to Eco-Tourism

In 2003, Les Gets committed itself to a policy of sustainable development with the launch of the Village Project 2003/2013. This project aims to ensure an economic balance, a sense of environmental responsibility and social equity with a view to promoting the harmonious development of the area, a better quality of life, strong solidarity between individuals and a preservation of the exceptional character of the mountains.
